An all-new free theme has landed in the Design Studio! San Juan changes things up with unique fonts and color palettes for creating a vibrant website that is both fun and eye-catching. And you can’t help but notice that this sleek design doesn’t cut any corners - it simply removes them! See what we’re talking about with some of our favorite elements listed below.
The San Juan theme is now available in the eCatholic Design Studio! If you have an eCatholic website hosting package, you can update your site's design to San Juan (or any of our other free themes) in just a few clicks! Then, customize the San Juan theme with unique style, imagery, and your very own content.
Time for a more substantial update? We're here to help! Here are two ways to start:
Taking a step away from common angled features, San Juan uses circular elements in its custom image buttons and linked HTML buttons. These circular motifs add attention-grabbing elements to any website.
San Juan design example: Regular and alternative button styling options.
When using a Buttons section, you can set the section's styling to show default buttons that use large images or preset illustrations. San Juan also offers alternate button styling options. This alternate style removes the image and condenses the button into a smaller style that features an arrow laid on top of a circle. The very same alternate style appears when creating hyperlinked text buttons or a quick link in a site's Feature Region or Headline Section!
Discover bold primary color options and how they take center stage in prominent spots throughout the theme's design. These colors are paired with a series of neutral grays to complement every section. If you’re looking for an exact shade to match your brand, simply change the primary color using the Custom Colors option in the Design Studio. Easy enough!

The San Juan theme uses contrasting typefaces with a modern take on traditional styles. Bold titles decorate pages, sections, and the website headers with a clear clean-edge font style. Subtitles and hyperlink buttons use the same font set in all capital letters. Regular text copy has a more traditional look with slight projections (also known as serifs) detailing the ends of each letter. The two styles help visually distinguish main elements across a website.

When the Archdioceses of Los Angeles and Cincinnati found out that their local NFL teams would be headed to Super Bowl LVI, the archbishops saw a unique opportunity and thus #BishopsBigGame was born! In order to share more about this friendly wager, BishopsBigGame.com was created using the new San Juan website theme.
While each archbishop was rooting for their respective team, they also placed a friendly wager on the outcome. Both archbishops offered delicious treats from local eateries for their part of the wager and encouraged their own diocesan communities to participate, by sending monetary donations that would directly benefit the Catholic Education Fund in each archdiocese. Both Archbishop José H. Gomez of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and Archbishop Dennis M. Schnurr of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati kicked off the fundraising by each donating $1,000 to the joint fund (powered by eCatholic Payments).
In the end, #BishopsBigGame raised over $22,000 for Catholic Schools in the Archdioceses of Cincinnati and Los Angeles, thanks to the generosity of people like you!
