The communications team at the Archdiocese of New Orleans noticed that over time, its parish websites had been left behind. Technology had changed dramatically over the past 5-10 years, but many parishes didn’t have the staff or expertise to keep up. Many churches had websites that were embarrassingly out-of-date, or they offered no digital presence at all to the Catholic community in the archdiocese.
As a result, individual parishes (and the archdiocese as a whole) were missing valuable communication and evangelization opportunities. The team knew it was time (in fact, well overdue) to get intentional about digital communication. And its parishes needed a nudge in the right direction.

137 new rockstar websites (161% of goal)
Within months the project was successful and popular. The initial goal of 85 parish sites was quickly exceeded. As a result, the archdiocese expanded its funding to allow more entities to take advantage of the opportunity. Mission accomplished.
