Your faith community often extends beyond the four walls of the church sanctuary. Now, more than ever, we have the resources to provide familiar liturgies to those members of our community who may not be able to physically attend parish Mass.
When using the technology provided by your eCatholic-powered website, here are a few suggestions for creating an engaging “Remote Worship” page:
An easy way to direct people to watch Mass on your website is to create a dedicated page for the content. This way, you can directly share the webpage URL on social media or in an email blast, and people will know exactly where to tune in.
Make sure the page name is simple and memorable. For example, you could name your page ParishName.org/Mass or ParishName.org/Live. That way, it can easily be found again.
You can choose from one of the following video modules:
eCatholic LIVE - If you’ve enabled eCatholic LIVE or your website, simply drag and drop the eCatholic LIVE module onto your dedicated page. You can then manage the live stream, broadcast schedules, and other details all from your eCatholic LIVE Admin Portal.
YouTube or Vimeo - If you live streamed Mass through YouTube or Vimeo, or have an archived video of your Mass, you could also utilize the YouTube or Vimeo modules by dragging and dropping them onto your page as well and inserting the correct link.
Take your page to the next level by using a columns section. Include your livestream video in the left column and the Daily Mass Readings module the in the right column. That way viewers can find the bible verses and read along while they are watching!
Including a link to an online giving form helps promote stewardship. In fact, 60% of church-goers say they are open to giving online. Directing website visitors to your online offertory is a great way to help remind parishioners about tithing, even though they are not physically present to place an envelope in the basket.
Don't have online giving? Try eCatholic Donations & Payments! This easy-to-use online giving platform will integrate directly into your website. It’s time to leave the clunky stewardship tools behind. Click here to find out more.
Between bible studies, fundraisers, adoration, youth ministry events, and more, your parish probably offers opportunities beyond simply Mass. Provide a link to these ministries so people can learn more about them and get involved!
An online worship experience might be new to some of your viewers. Try answering some common questions they might have by including a “frequently asked questions” section on your page. You can use a Tabs Section to help share the information.
There are many things that may prevent people from walking through those church doors on any given day, but by being a little creative with the technology at hand, you can provide a fulfilling worship experience for those who may need to participate from a distance.
