Don’t miss out on this valuable opportunity to “spread friendly reminders” (aka “evangelize”) to the world about all the happenings at your parish this week. Why? Because God is ready to dump tons of grace into many hearts in the coming days.
Make it impossible for people to NOT find your Holy Week schedule at your parish and on your website. If you have an eCatholic website, post the full schedule on your homepage or make a Holy Week-related image the first slide of your homepage slideshow and link to your full schedule.
As the week goes on, there will be plenty of opportunities for powerful photos that could touch someone’s heart and draw them to Jesus.
Grab your smartphone and sneak a shot of your barren sanctuary, the washing of feet during the Mass of the Lord’s Supper, or even a wide shot of all those chairs set up for the overflow crowds. Post the photos on your website and social media accounts, showing people what they won’t want to miss!
Whip out your phone again, grab an original recording of your congregation’s rendition, and post it online. Not only will it send a chill down most people’s spines, others might take the message to heart and remember to come to Mass on Easter. Speaking of…
The ChrEasters are coming! (i.e., those who typically attend church services on Christmas and Easter only) And this is a great thing! Don’t be a grumpy cat. Be ready.
Set up a welcome table with ways new visitors can get integrated into your parish community. Encourage them to sign up for updates from your parish via text or email. Smile at them. Introduce yourself.
Sure, they may have taken your seat for Mass and your parking spot, but today could be their last day as a ChrEaster and their first as a disciple.
As with any form of evangelization, don’t forget to pray for those you are trying to reach. Offer them to Jesus this week and ask Him to make them the target of his tsunami of grace.
From all of us at eCatholic, we pray you have a blessed Holy Week!
